Muzzle velocities
This can be a minefield, be aware some games suppliers do not enforce the 1 joule limit for some weapons leading to such rules as no shot closer than 30 feet and the like, this assumes everyone is competent to judge the difference between 30 and 29 feet and sticks to it, we do not differentiate between weapon types, no weapon used in our games may exceed our site limit of 350 feet per second ( this represents 328 fps plus a tolerance of less than 10% to allow for variables such as bb manufacture tolerances, instrumentation calibration errors and the like ).

The Home Office advise a limit of 1 joule muzzle energy, from the formula ‘0.5 x mass x velocity squared’, ( the energy of a moving object ) and for the reasons outlined above we have calculated the table below, this table offer a matrix showing the permitted muzzle velocity against the weight of the projectile, take note !. If your weapon exceeds these limits take expert advice on how to reduce it, theoretically suppliers should not retail weapons that fail to conform so return it for adjustment or replacement with a legally permitted weapon.

Muzzle energy ...
This is strictly restricted to 1 joule giving a maximum muzzle velocity for a 0.20 gm bb of 328 feet per second irrespective of weapon type or operating system, if in doubt use the chronograph, overpowered weapons are not permitted. For more information on permitted muzzle velocities see below.
