25th September 2011 – “Cowboy Day”

September 9th, 2011

Here’s another one of those silly game days when players raid the charity shops and come to site dressed as characters from the Wild West, when men were men and women were glad of it !.

There will be three main character classes, cowboys ( to include all types of civilians, heroes and villains ), Indians and cavalry so players can select their favourite from the B movies.

Single shot only, pistols, rifles, tomahawks and knives ( no, not real ones ! ).

We’ll play a series of games to match the period, how about a bank raid, a reservation breakout, an Indian raid and a posse hunting the bad guys ?.

Everyone is welcome so engage your silly side and spend a day in the west.

Sunday 8th May 2011 – “World Domination”

March 28th, 2011

The objective is for one country to conquer the world.

The world will be divided into 5 countries ( more will be added if demanded )
The countries will be :-

Liang Shang Po – blue armband
Ying Tong – red armband
Tiddle I Po – yellow armband
Satuma – orange armband
North Career – no armband

Each country will have a standing army, a diplomat and a president.

Diplomats will be free to travel to whatever country they are directed to by
their respective president, they must not be captured or prevented from
doing their master’s bidding.

Diplomats cannot exist without both a home country and a president.

Only diplomats can negotiate treaties which come into force when signed by
their respective presidents.

Treaties can be broken by a declaration of war that must be delivered by the diplomat in question.

Treaties may be agreed before and during the game session.

Each country will have a ‘gold reserve’, in the event of that country being conquered 50% of the reserve goes to the conquering country, the other 50% can be used as the defeated president decrees.

A conquered country loses half it’s army which enlists in the conqueror’s army, the other half becoming a mercenary army to be hired by any country.

The diplomat may become part of the army, if so he accepts the same risks as the army until he resumes his diplomatic status.

Presidents may fight with their army, if their country is conquered they may choose which 50% of their defeated army they prefer to be exiled with.

Countries are defeated when their president is captured or eliminated.

Any player hit is eliminated until repaired by a medic or respawned.

Respawns can only take place at the designated places, after 15 minutes the player is fully restored.

Players may call a medic or be escorted to a medic, medics take 5 minutes to fully restore a player.

Medics must respawn.

Players may be captured during elimination and before restoration and must be escorted to a POW area, this area being designated by each country.

Players in the POW areas are fully restored after 15 minutes of captivity.

Players may remain fully armed when prisoners, they may not take any part in the game unless the POW area is overrun by another army in which case they may join their liberator’s army.

Prisoners may volunteer to join their captors army at any time.

Players joining another army must wear that army’s armband colour.

Medics wear an additional white armband.

‘Bang’ hits apply, players may surrender as they see fit.

Sunday 20th March 2011 (10am Start) – “The Wild West” Non-Stop All Day Game

February 16th, 2011

How the West was fun ( based on every western movie ever made )
A full day consisting of one single game, a place where civilisation is trying to exert itself over a lawless frontier town.
This game is designed to evolve and develop as the various character inter-relate with their surroundings and the ambitions of other factions.

The basic game take place in North America somewhere on the edge of civilisation not far from the badlands, every genre of character from drawn from every western movie ever made might well be there.

Players can select a stereotype to join and then enter into character becoming an integral part of a new history of the old west.
Players should try to dress appropriately and should be armed with single shot weapons only ( which includes rifles, pistols, shotguns, knives ( rubber of course ) and tomahawks ( likewise ), grenade launchers can also \be used as ‘sawed-offs’.

Each character class will be given a secret objective, there will be gold, banks, outlaws, Indians and cavalry in one form or another, each player can select their character type and put it on the website, (i) for Indian, (c) for army/cavalry, ( c) for civilian. Using the website will enable players to see who’s going to be who and maybe start a few threads on the forum as well.

Character type :- Townsfolk—the goodish guys consisting of a banker, sheriff, deputy, saloon keeper, miner, shop keeper, doctor and so on. These guys represent civilisation as they go about their daily lives, sometimes being asked to support the law by joining a posse or being robbed at gun point by local desperados, all they want is a quiet life but sometimes they just have to take the law into their own hands.

Character type :- Cavalry—living in the local fort and drinking all their meagre wages these guys are expected to keep the civilian population safe from the local Indian tribe by controlling the reservation where unrest is currently residing in large measure, good at following orders but precious little else they’re also all there is betwixt marauding warriors bands on the war-path and the townsfolk.

Character type :- Outlaws—the ‘Hole in the Wall’ gang with an unknown hideout deep in the badlands, occasionally raiding the local bank or attacking miners returning to town with their hard earned nuggets of pure gold. Unrecognised when they go to town, ready to shoot first or outdraw anyone who is foolish enough to upset their equilibrium, such infamous names as’Butch Cassidy, The Sundance Kid, the James boys’, perhaps a Mexican or two or maybe a renegade Indian, what a bunch. The problem is they look just like any other
townsperson and might be open to a bribe or two.

Character type :- Indian—down at the local reservation but justifiably seething with anger against those who took their lands and broke every treaty, all they’re waiting for is the chance to put on the war-paint and attack, a renegade few might appear to be helping the Army by scouting but are they to be trusted, who is selling them whiskey and guns, when they leave the reservation to go to town for supplies ( whiskey ) is that all they’re up to, do the few soldiers guarding the reservation know of the danger they’re in.

In summary the game is designed to ‘play itself’, no automatic fire just interaction between players each of whom has an agenda, at the end of the game we’ll de-brief when players can reveal their objectives and see who’s ‘won the west’.

Hits :- any player who is shot or otherwise incapacitated must indicate that they’ve been hit by the accepted method of shouting ‘HIT’, a hit on an arm or leg ( that includes feet, fingers and hands ) is wounded and can no longer use that limb until he has either been taken to the doctor or had the doctor brought to him or dragged himself to the doctor. Any player hit in the body is deceased and must make their way back with their hand up to their start position and wait 10 minutes before returning to the fray.
Any Indian taking a limb hit can wait 5 minutes before being fully restored to health.
Hits can be received from firearms, knives and tomahawks.
All players are expected to play with good humour, responsibly and with much common sense, there are no prizes for scalp collections !.

Currency :- there are three sources of wealth, gold ( from the mine ), paper money ( in the bank and carried by players ) and whiskey of course ( sadly just pretend ).

If you would like to take on a specific role please check the updates page for the current positions. Please submit your request via email/contact page and the place will be reserved that’s available. Positions will be kept hidden for now until the game day begins.
