Safety Issues
Clearly every players has the right to be safe, having said that each player must also accept a degree of responsibility for his, or her, own safety and security, there are risks in any activity but with a little thought the vast majority can reduced to insignificance.
The most obvious issue is facial protection, please be aware bb’s can break teeth, draw blood and bruise, grenades, percussive and concussive devices actuating or exploding close to a player may also cause injury to unprotected parts of the body therefore :-
All juniors must wear full face protection and wear sensible clothing, all others are highly recommended to follow suit or accept the consequences.
All players must ensure all the items they carry are properly secured and not liable to cause injury in the event of an untoward incident such as a fall.
All players should inform other players of items they perceive might potentially cause injury.
Be safe and think about the safety of others.
Weapon Safety
No weapon is permitted in the ‘safe area’ unless it’s magazine in removed and breach empty.
No player may remove their facial protection unless in the ‘safe area’.
Close range shots should be moderated with common sense at all times.
Blind firing, i.e. firing randomly at an unseen target at close range is not permitted.
Area fire, .i.e. suppressive fire designed to render the target unable to move or fire is
permitted however it should be used with care and stopped immediately the target player is hit.
When travelling all weapons should be pointed down with trigger finger alongside the trigger guard, this should limit the opportunity for ‘negligent discharges’.
Pyrotechnics and grenades
These are permitted only to those aged 18 or over, games can be greatly enhanced by their use however great care must be exercised at all times and the item’s operating instructions followed and strictly adhered to.
All players must be advised of their use in a game.
Weapons Other
This includes knives, karate, boots, poison gas, garrottes, sharp sticks, batons, knuckledusters and any other item that could be used to inflict any injury.
Anyone stupid enough to bring such items to site will be excluded from the organisation,
secured and decorative items may be permitted subject to scrutiny.
Sensible Stuff
Players are encouraged to wear whatever they feel is appropriate for their own protection, mobility and suitability for the prevailing conditions. The game demands should always be moderated by personal health and fitness considerations, know your limitations.
Plenty of fluids in hot weather, warm clothing in the cold, waterproofs if wet, good boots, knee and elbow protection and so on.
Leave any wildlife alone.
Keep an eye on other players for any signs of distress or trauma and know how to get help.
